Speak Up, an original documentary from Cartoon Network, captures the authentic, everyday stories of America's bullied kids and the youth who have helped them. The half-hour film is an extension of the network's nationally recognized and award-winning pro-social initiative Stop Bullying: Speak Up, which seeks to empower all kids to take part in the growing movement to help bring an end to bullying. This moving, thoughtful and hopeful program consists of candid interviews with kids, mostly between the ages of 8 and 13 years old, who either are or have been the target of bullies, bystanders in a bullying situation or even bullies themselves. Demonstrating remarkable courage to speak openly and honestly about their own experiences, these brave youngsters offer empathy, strength and reassurance for all victims of bullying, as well as to bystanders, with a clear message that speaking up is the best way to bring about an end to bullying.

The problem with telling people to stop doing something, especially children, is that they want to push the envelope. The emphasis is on the wrong thing. We need to not vilify so-called "bullies" and focus instead on the mental illnesses that effect our population. Not all children or adults who are bullied try to commit suicide; just the ones who suffer from Depression-related illnesses. No amount of peer pressure can *make* someone kill themself. Nobody can force you to feel a certain way.

All u bullys need to stop bcuz my best friend got bullied and i never noticed until he died and now i feel bad and always will. Its stupid to bully someone just bcuz u get bullied. Dont take it out on the weaker kids. I was bullied so i went into mma and suprised the kid the day he started hitting me i busted open his eye socket and broke his jaw. Law said it was self defense. He hit me first. And no matter what take a stand and don't let anyone get bullied at school, down ur street stop the bullying

As someone who was bullied in elementary school I am totally against it however I must say due to the constant daily emotional & mental torture I received I became a very strong individual as a adult. Side effects included me starting to bully kids in middle & high school as a result until I realized I was no better & used that to strengthen me. bullying is wrong. period.
