Season 4 episodes (10)

1 Cake
6/16/17
Season-only
In Cake Week, the bakers will tackle a British classic for their signature challenge, face their first technical–a cake with a fatless sponge and tricky chocolate work, and then go all-out to impress with their first high-end showstopper.
2 Biscuits
6/16/17
Season-only
Who will snap first with just a few hours to make 24 identical, elaborate biscuits? Then, the technical challenge requires perfect piping, while the final showstopper challenge requires precision baking to build a biscuit structure.
3 Bread
6/23/17
Season-only
Paul Hollywood has put together three of the toughest challenges ever; and no dough is safe from his scrutiny. The bakers face a steamy technical challenge without an oven, and they have to avoid a burnt bottom and a soggy top.
4 Batter
6/29/17
Season-only
The bakers are tested on store cupboard classics that may sound simple, but demand perfection. They rise to the occasion for the signature challenge; and for the showstopper, the bakers must do their version of a Spanish classic.
5 Pastry
7/7/17
Season-only
With just eight bakers left, Mary and Paul have set three challenges to test the bakers on three very different types of pastry, including breakfast time, Danish style; a classic British tart; and a bite size showstopper.
6 Botanical
7/14/17
Season-only
For the very first time, it’s Botanical Week, with challenges inspired by nature. The bakers can reach for anything that grows to give their bakes maximum botanical taste, to get sharp flavors, perfect peaks, and stunning floral designs.
7 Desserts
7/21/17
Season-only
It’s Dessert week! The bakers face a sweetly-filled signature challenge that has them rolling out their skills; a technical that layers on the sweet pressure; and a multi-bake mini showstopper that’s a bit of a mousse marathon.
8 Tudor Week
7/28/17
Season-only
Step back to the time of Henry VIII’s flamboyant banquets. From the Tudor classic savory pies to an unusual Tudor biscuit and a showstopping spectacle of marzipan, the bakers make treats fit to grace the tables of a wealthy Tudor banquet.
9 Patisserie
8/4/17
Season-only
It’s Patisserie week and the bakers must achieve perfect lamination for difficult French pastry; make a yeast-based cake both delicate and fruity; and create a multiple mini-cake bake where timing is crucial to achieve a high-end finish.
10 The Final
8/4/17
Season-only
It’s Patisserie week and the bakers must achieve perfect lamination for difficult French pastry; make a yeast-based cake both delicate and fruity; and create a multiple mini-cake bake where timing is crucial to achieve a high-end finish.

About this show

"The Great British Baking Show" is the ultimate baking battle in which passionate amateur bakers compete with the goal to be named the UK's best. Each week, the bakers tackle a different skill, the difficulty of which increases as the competition unfolds. Mary Berry, a leading cookbook writer, and Paul Hollywood, a top artisan baker, serve as judges. Together with hosts and comic foils Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, Berry and Hollywood search for the country's best amateur baker by testing the competitors' skills on cakes, breads, pastries and desserts, crowning a winner after 10 weeks of competition.

Netflix has the whole of Great British Bake Season 5 on August 31. I've been waiting for Google play to release the episodes..but they stopped after episodes 6. What good is that. AND NO ONE AT GOOGLE PLAY HAS ANY ANSWERS, AS TO WHY THEY CAN'T GET EPISODES OF A SHOW THAT THEY SELL. Google play store a waste of my time. I am going to request a refund because Google play can not sell me the rest of the series.

It is my absolute favorite show! I get caught up in their British accents and lingo, and I love how proper they are to one another. The hosts are hilarious and have genuine camaraderie. My favorite thing is the scenery. It's heavenly with the green rolling hills, ducks frolicking in the ponds, and sheep grazing lazily in fields of wildflowers. I have learned so much about baking and have tried many new bakes as a result of this show.

Slow releases of new episodes. As of Aug. 15th, iTunes has three additional episodes not released on Google Play. Very disappointed as this is one of my favorite shows. I would have spent my money elsewhere had I known this was to happen. I'll definitely keep this in mind when making future purchases, especially for new shows that are not completely released.
