The documentary is so much more nuanced and thoughtful than the (social media) conversation about this topic has been. This documentary isn't anti-Simpsons, it uses Apu as a device to talk about being an invisible minority and not having the power to control how you are represented in the media. Hari and several other Indian American personalities talk about their personal experiences, and their complicated relationship with the stereotyping of their culture. Far from a bunch of angry SJW snowflakes hurling insults, you'll find intelligent people having a raw, authentic but kind & thoughtful conversation as they grapple with the complicated society they were born into. Definitely worth a watch!
