1 Welcome to Royston Vasey

Two visitors arrive in Royston Vasey. While Benjamin goes off to stay with his Auntie Val and Uncle Harvey in their house of incomprehensible rules, Martin stumbles across the Local Shop, where proprietors Tubbs and Edward reveal to him their dislike of strangers. At the job centre, Pauline the Restart Officer is furious that one of her attendees has secured a job interview.

2 The Road to Royston Vasey

The new road to Royston Vasey is under construction, but Tubbs and Edward fear it will bring strangers to their local shop for local people. Pauline is holding a workshop in selling a newspaper for the homeless, and Benjamin is desperate to get a call to the outside world on the Denton's telephone.

3 Nightmare in Royston Vasey

Tubbs sees a map and discovers that there is life beyond Royston Vasey. Appalled, Edward resolves to put an end to this intrusion once and for all. Pauline's under pressure in the 'interview techniques workshop'; business colleagues Mike, Brian and Geoff are in heated discussion; Mr Chinnery encounters a tortoise, and a terrible discovery is made on the road-building site.

4 The Beast of Royston Vasey

The monstrous discovery is causing workers to flee the road-construction site; Mr Chinnery is called in to deal with the find. Charlie and Stella, long-married, try to rekindle the lost spark of their marriage at the local Italian restaurant. Legz Akimbo, a theatre-in-education group, pays the school an eye-opening visit, and Benjamin is babysitting the twins.

5 Love Comes to Royston Vasey

Mike's getting married, and in retrospect it may have been a mistake to let Geoff be best man. Les McQueen regales the band with reminiscences of his rock 'n' roll days. At the Dentons' house, a less jovial affair takes place: the funeral of Uncle Harvey's beloved toads, Sonny and Cher. And Henry and Ally go to the cinema.

6 Escape from Royston Vasey

Tubbs and Edward have an unexpected visitor - their son, David. It's Geoff's birthday, but have Mike and Brian forgotten, and if so, what will be the consequences? Mr Chinnery is on lethal form; Ben's getting ever-more desperate to leave his uncle's house, and it's the day of Babs' operation, but she has a shock when she discovers who the surgeon is.

About this show

Enter the weird and wonderfully twisted world of Royston Vasey - an isolated and rather odd town somewhere in the North. Its singular inhabitants lead dark lives, from Dr Chinnery, the lethally incompetent vet to Pauline, the monstrous Restart Officer at the Job Centre. The town's strange inhabitants are ferried about by Barbara, the meaty taxi-driving transsexual and served by Tubbs and Edward, the inbred local shop-owning couple with a mortal hatred of strangers.

I WASTED ALMOST 2 POUNDS ON SOMETHING THAT DOESNT WORK!!! I like the league of gentlemen and series 2 episode 1 doesn't work. On DVD AND Google play movies & TV. Please fix Play Movies & Tv , google I am a big fan of the amazing show. Or at least, please refund my £1.82.

Low rating given for very poor 480p picture quality not the excellent show. Nowhere near good enough to watch on anything larger than a 5" screen.

I can't fault this series at all , it's humour , it's references to horror movies and the fact it was a breath of fresh air when it was first broadcast in 1999 make this my favourite of all times , if you like your humour blacker than the night , then this is for you,
