Warriors of Liberty City

Warriors co-founder, famous entertainer and political activist Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell introduces the world of Liberty City Warriors and describes the origins of the Warriors program. With the challenges of gun violence and poverty that the neighborhood faces, the Warriors program helps maintain its tight-knit community by keeping the kids off the streets while building superstar athletes. We meet the "Boom Squad," a team of 9-year-old back-to-back national youth football champions, and the "155s," a team of 13-year-old football players, along with their coaches and parents. Beyond the famed Warriors football program, Liberty City Warriors provides programs for numerous sports, including dancing and cheerleading.

Quarterback Chatarius "Tutu" Atwell is considered among the best high school football players in the state of Florida. Now in his senior year at Miami Northwestern High School, he is on a quest to bring a long- awaited state championship back to his high school and their many devoted fans in Liberty City. However, everyone's focus is pulled from football as Hurricane Irma approaches, threatening historic destruction.

Liberty City recovers from Hurricane Irma while upcoming games against archrival Overtown present challenges for the Warriors football teams. The lingering fallout from Hurricane Irma leaves the Dread family disrupted and struggling to overcome the new challenges. Herb celebrates his first big win as a head coach.

For 13-year-olds Destiny and Robert, growing up in Liberty City adds bigger and sometimes more dangerous stakes. A birthday party that gets out of hand provides a much-needed reality check. Meanwhile, the Dread family continues to struggle with the consequence of an unwelcome separation, and little George struggles with big feelings.

The Dread family continues to struggle with their housing situation, while the pressure of football and coming fatherhood finally gets to Herb, affecting his coaching on the field.

For all of the players, teams and coaches, the end of the season means it's back to regular life in Liberty City and time to reflect on what the future holds on the field and off.
