About this show

A funny and poignant window into the mind of a dry-witted, sexual, angry, porn-watching, grief-riddled woman, trying to make sense of the world. Fleabag (Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Crashing) is thrown roughly against the walls of London in this modern mix of fatalism and hedonism, sustaining a merry-go-round of broken dreamers.

Trying hard to be different - and does, at times, manage to be be at least quirky - but relies endlessly on shock factor to float a stream of fairly shallow gags. The continual shared looks and side commentary to the audience went from entertaining novelty to pretty old quite quickly. The central protagonist is emotionally disconnected and doesn't offer much to engage with, and the inclination to continue watching was really only propped up by the emerging backstory of her deceased friend.

A story about an extremely self-involved and spoilt Karen. The OG Karen to end all Karens. Save your $ for something else. Not much here apart from swearing and over the top explicit shock/awe sex-related nonsense. Missable AF.

As equally hilarious as it is devastating, the show follows the perspective of a lewd, sex-crazed loon as she manoeuvres her way around the death of her best friend. Amazing cast, incredible script, and direction. One of the best dramatic comedies I have ever seen. And if you thought season 1 was good, just wait until you see season 2. Highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
