The Mysteries of Laura

When an online hookup ends in murder, Laura creates her own dating website profile and — under Billy’s watchful eye — uses herself to bait the killer. While Laura goes undercover at Manhattan’s hottest night spots, Jake finally inks the divorce papers, prompting Laura to reconsider the dating scene for real. RICKY PAUL GOLDEN guest stars.

An old friend and the beloved owner of a biker bar is found dead, leading Laura and Jake to return to the site of their first date for the investigation. Meanwhile, the twins have met their match with their new ex-con babysitter, but Laura sends Max on a secret mission to check up on them — just in case.

When a powerful congressman’s campaign is tainted by a sex scandal, the NYPD’s top officials task Laura with finding out the truth behind the alleged mistress. But when surveillance goes awry, the 2nd Precinct team has to delve into the online gaming world to shut down a well-connected killer.

The team finds the remains of a man’s body that appears to have been killed in his own bathroom, but when the homeowner shows up alive and well, the detectives not only find themselves on the hunt for the killer, but must also determine who the victim is. Meanwhile, Laura and Jake try out “nesting” as a solution to their shared custody struggles.

The detectives experience New York Fashion Week as they investigate the murder of a luxury designer’s gifted intern. Suspects range from supermodels to knock-off peddlers, taking Laura and Billy from the runway to Canal Street and everywhere in between. Jake reevaluates Max’s position at the precinct. GILLES MARINI (2 Broke Girls, Brothers & Sisters, Switched at Birth) guest stars as designer Tom Burke.

The son of a prominent art gallery owner is found dead in Koreatown. Looking for clues, Laura and the team navigate through the neighborhood’s karaoke scene where they uncover a gambling ring. To catch the killer, Laura must prepare to enter a high-stakes poker game, forcing her to reconnect with her estranged father (guest star ROBERT KLEIN – Sisters, Two Weeks Notice).

When a woman is found dead on a “party bus,” Laura and the team take on a beauty empire and its leader to uncover the truth behind the murder. Meanwhile, an annual mud race creates some friendly competition amongst the detectives of the 2nd precinct.

Laura and the team investigate to determine if a religious motive was at play when a couple is found murdered in their apartment. Meanwhile, at home, a familiar if not so friendly face visits Laura and Jake during their search to find a replacement nanny for the boys.

The 2nd Precinct detectives are off to the races — horse races, that is, when a fertility doctor goes missing and his wife suspects foul play. Adding to Laura’s docket, the twins are accused of bullying in their Tae Kwon Do class, angering a group of meddlesome mothers.

The 2nd Precinct detectives enter New York’s culinary world to take on a chilling case. Things start heating up for Laura when a potential suspect turns into a serious crush.

An act of arson has the detectives investigating the death of a teenage boy. The case sparks chemistry between Jake and Angela (guest star ANASTASIA GRIFFITH – Damages, Copper, Once Upon a Time), a former firefighting flame, while Laura tries, unsuccessfully, to remove herself from police work to focus on the twins’ Winter Carnival.

An investigation into the death of a star athlete leads the detectives to the dark side of one of New York City’s most elite prep schools. Laura and Jake team up to work undercover, and sparks fly.

When a female impersonator is murdered, Laura and the team dive into the raucous New York City drag world. But expectation is turned on its head when it is discovered that the victim was a member of an underground fight club. Meanwhile, Laura reconnects with an old friend (guest star KELLY RUTHERFORD – Gossip Girl), leading to a wild night out on the town and a surprise encounter with Tony (recurring guest star NEAL BLESDOE – Smash).

A beautiful au pair’s untimely death puts Laura and the team on the hunt for a murderer and into the middle of a female escort ring. Meanwhile, the precinct spirals into a frenzy when a new detective named Frankie Pulaski (new series regular MEG STEEDLE – Boardwalk Empire) is sent from headquarters to investigate alleged indiscretions between Jake and Laura.

After the stabbing of a former beauty queen, Laura is reunited with her ex-fiancé (guest star ERIC McCORMACK – Will & Grace, Perception). The only problem is that he’s the number one suspect in the stabbing. As Laura takes a trip down memory lane, the team follows a lead into the high-price world of holistic healing.

The detectives probe the murder of an intern working at a trendy tech startup. Laura struggles to make time for intimacy with her new beau, Tony (recurring guest star NEAL BLEDSOE).

Laura dodges her birthday while probing the murder of a sailor. Billy is forced to work alongside a headstrong naval investigator. Kathie Lee Gifford (Today) guest stars as Dr. Carlin, a psychiatrist that assists with the case. Meta Golding (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) also guest stars.

Laura deals with an epic personal crisis while searching for the killer of a teacher’s aide. The investigation leads the cops into the madness of NCAA basketball. Guest star KENNY “THE JET” SMITH (sports analyst and former NBA star) appears as himself.

When a murdered club kid is tied to a string of jewel heists in the Diamond District, Laura and the team have to stop a robbery crew to solve a murder. Meanwhile, Jake’s violation of divorced-parent etiquette forces Laura to reevaluate the seriousness of her relationship with Tony (recurring guest star NEAL BLEDSOE). Guest stars include JANEL PARRISH (Pretty Little Liars) and Frankie Muniz (Malcom in the Middle).

Laura and the team clash with a meddlesome amateur detective while tracking down a young filmmaker’s killer. Guest star MELISSA JOAN HART (Melissa & Joey) appears as an online radio host named KC Moss. Guest star STEVE GUTTENBERG (Police Academy films, Diner) appears as himself.

In the season finale, as Jake lies in critical condition, Laura and the team search for his shooter, an assailant armed with a new high-tech weapon.
