About this show

The Chairman has had a culinary epiphany - he would like to add a new Iron Chef to his roster of gifted and adventurous culinarians. The Chairman invites 8 of the best Chefs in America to engage in culinary combat. The winner of this first-ever series of extraordinary cooking challenges will be elevated to the status of Iron Chef and "his/her name will be known throughout the land." Alton Brown, the Chairman's trusted assistant and culinary commentator will oversee the proceedings and administer the challenges.
