One of pbs kids worst shows Arthur is a roller coaster of blandness and generic story about life's experiences, the theme song is relatively on tune with the premise, the unlikable generic characters are just 2 - dimensional, the brain is just the generic A+ grade student that the show forces to a hated character depending on the episode, muffy is just the spoiled rich girl archetype and franchine has sister problems knowing full well about the controversial Ratburn episode is sad to think about

I grew up with Arthur and it was my favorite show and I never missed an episode. Now my two boys are growing up watching it and they love it as much as me And my wife did. I'm sad to see PBS cancel it after all these years but I do hope they bring it back and allow future generations of kids to have adventures with Arthur they way I did.

Arthur is a show that I grew up with almost religiously. I know from experience that it is a fun and family friendly thing with plenty of good jokes and most importantly a lot of great lessons that can be understood by a young audience. However, in the more recent years of the show, namely since they started using the new animation style, the writing has gone severely downhill, retconning established personalities for characters and quite frankly it touches on a lot of subjects that are either too politically unnecessary, or quite frankly are portrayed to be far more sensitive than they actually are. Many of which have actually been touched by Arthur in the early seasons and they were done better back then, but now seem to simply be rehashed into something in order to pamper and condescend to an audience that seems to be far more oversensitive than when the show first began airing. Regardless, while the newer stuff is controversially touchy, the older stuff is still a worth while watch.
