Having fallen in love with The West Wing, and Studio 60, I am again amazed at the creative power and sheer brilliance from Aaron Sorkin. This is another fast paced, touching and honest series, taking on another main staple of the America physique, that being journalism. I can not recommend this series so much, though I am disappointed that it was cut short with there only being 3 seasons.

Great first 2 seasons of 10 episodes each, then collapsed and ended prematurely after 6 episodes for season 3. Plots are built around real life events which adds to the stories. Acting and scripts are first rate. Can't help wonder if this would have been hugely successful if it was a Netflix series rather than HBO with better funding and larger potential audience.

A show based around a newsreader who decides to report... the news. Not the guff that passes for news, but actual, relevant, accurate news. The team mess up, they go wrong, they fight their morals against their bosses and profits. And it's done in a fast-moving, interesting way, with great one-liners thrown in, tied in with real news stories of the time and nicely paced. Great series, why they haven't made more, I can't fathom... Trump would be the perfect fodder for another series!
