About this show

Set in 1821 against a backdrop of windswept Cornish moors, this dark tale of “sex and skulduggery in Du Maurier country” (The Times, UK) has been lavishly adapted by Emma Frost (The White Queen) and directed by BAFTA winner Philippa Lowthorpe (Call the Midwife). This “moodily atmospheric” (Daily Mail, UK) adaptation follows a spirited young woman whose sense of morality is challenged by circumstance and love.

Imagine traveling back to 1821, almost 200 years way before my time probably 175 years before I was born into the world I live. Knowing history on those times so different to understand even my own of my culture and my family's birth country.
