Eureka isn't usually as good as I remember it being. The intro gives it away, really- there are a lot of fantastical, sci-fi things happening, but it tends to overpower interesting character interactions (It's a little difficult to have meaningful dialogue when "Oh no something terrible is happening again") The acting is good though, and the later seasons are better at pretty much everything. Watch if you want to see good, solid sci-fi problem solving, because that's most of Eureka. If you do decide to watch, you can probably skip the first (and maybe second) season, everything you need is given through exposition or can be inferred from context.

I tried my best to get into this show, being I do love most scifi programs! But this one just never hit the mark for me. Personally glad to see it go off the air, I won't miss it a bit! Although with this all being said, I do think the show had possibilities that could of made it a great show, unfortunately they never took that road though!

I have been a loyal viewer ever since this channel came available. I have seen program after program cancelled. Eureka in particular I have been able to watch with my kids and enjoy. We also enjoyed the final iteration of Stargate.( Stargate Universe ) since my kids are older and able to see a more adult type of SyFy. program and then BAM! cancelled just when it was hitting it's stride. Hell it is getting to the point where when my cable company asks what channels I think they should continue........it will not be the SyFy channel.
