About this show

"Monumental Mysteries" scours the country for America's most extraordinary monuments, and reveals the amazing mysteries hidden within. From New York's Ellis Island, which served as a beacon of hope for a world-famous family of singers (the Von Trapps), to a huge clock on the island of Hawaii where the hands are forever frozen in time (Hilo Tsunami), to the Falling Star Sculpture in Alabama that commemorates the only known American to be hit by a meteorite, to Arizona's breathtaking Grand Canyon, where a newlywed couple inexplicably vanished - these are just some of the tales revealed. Hosted by Don Wildman, this series visits the statues, memorials, national parks, sculptures and gravestones that commemorate our nation's most intriguing events, notorious crimes, scandals, disasters and greatest triumphs of all time.
