Fueled by a desire to reunite with his wife Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) and son Trip (Ryan Wynott), former police officer Vince Faraday (David Lyons) becomes "The Cape" -- his son's favorite comic book superhero -- and takes the law into his own hands to battle criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City. Faraday is joined by Max Malini (Keith David), the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers, who mentors Faraday and trains him to become "The Cape," as well as investigative blogger Orwell (Summer Glau) who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City. Together, they must battle Ark corporation billionaire Peter Fleming (James Frain) -- The Cape's nemesis -- who moonlights as the twisted killer "Chess." Also starring are Vinnie Jones (as Scales), Martin Klebba (Rollo), Dorian Missick (Marty), Izabella Mike (Raia) and Anil Kumar (Ruvi).

Orphaned since birth, Conrad Chandler (guest star Glenn Fitzgerald), the heir of one of Palm City's founders, exacts revenge on the public and threatens to paralyze and control the city. The Cape (David Lyons) and Max (Keith David) alert Marty (Dorian Missick) of the impending danger to the city, which backfires on The Cape. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Prisons, Patrick Portman (guest star Richard Schiff), aids Orwell (Summer Glau) in her search for the lone heir. Orwell locates Conrad through Netta (guest star Illeana Douglas), his mysterious caretaker, but soon discovers his deeply disturbing past and finds herself in danger. Elsewhere, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) becomes increasingly uncomfortable with her new social life. The Cape (David Lyons), Max (Keith David) and Rollo (Martin Klebba) are forced to rely on Dana's (Jennifer Ferrin) legal connections to help them discover The Lich's whereabouts. Heavily entranced by Conrad Chandler's (The Lich) potent serum, Orwell (Summer Glau) struggles to fight off the physiological and mental effects of the strong dose. Meanwhile, Netta's (guest star Illeana Douglas) strange loyalty to The Lich is clarified. In a sedated, weak state, Orwell drifts between reality and fantasy sequences, which slowly reveal her history and past. Concerned about the protection of his gang's city territory, Scales (Vinnie Jones) makes a controversial pact with Fleming (James Frain) and plans to bring a dangerous villain, Razer (guest star Grant Bowler), to the city. Vince (David Lyons) intercepts Razer's arrival, disguises himself as the villain and infiltrates the inner circle of Scales and his gang. Meanwhile, Fleming battles internally with his alter ego, Chess, and Orwell (Summer Glau) remains in a dreary state, hinting at an uncertain future.

Attempting to learn more about Vince's dissapearance, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin) takes on Marty's case, and the impervious ARK Corporation, only to discover secrets of betrayal. The Cape's double identity becomes blurred when Max (Keith David) and the carnival of crime attempt to protect Dana, Marty and his family. Also starring James Frain (Peter), Summer Glau (Orwell), Ryan Wynott (Trip), Vinnie Jones (Scales) and Martin Klebba (Rollo).

About this show

Officer Vince Faraday (David Lyons) was a good cop trying to clean up a corrupt city. Framed for murder and left for dead, he suddenly found himself separated from his family and forced into hiding. Now, inspired by his son's favorite comic book hero, he's taking the law into his own hands, and playing a deadly game of chess with the powerful kingpin who framed him. With the hope of one day reuniting with his family, The Cape is sending a loud message to all criminals...run.

It was good, but people werent that into the superhero genre yet and it came on at 9:00, which also hurt the amount of people that would watch it over something more adult.

Love this show. One of my favorite shows of all time. Had one of the best cast. Watched it when it priemered on t.v. as a kid. I was crush when it got cancelled. Still mad about it lol, but glad its on here so I can happily binge.

David Lyons is definitely one of my fav TV actors. Seeing him on this and as Monroe on Revolution shows he has ni limits on the roleshe can play. Looking forward to what he does in the future!
