In the series premiere, nightlife impresarios and restaurateurs Derek and Daniel Koch gear up for the opening of their restaurant, Toy. Plus, pastry chef extraordinaire Julie Elkind is determined to battle the boys club to get a menu change. And chef Todd English plans a quiet dinner for his birthday--which turns into quite the party!
2 "if we lose this restaurant, you lose me"

Derek reluctantly meets with his accountant to discuss his and Daniel's sophisticated restaurant Chateau Cherbuliez, which they named after their grandmother. What he learns is that unless they recoup their losses fast, they're on track to close down in the next two weeks! Meanwhile, "Top Chef" alumni Candice Kumai celebrates her recent book release, but career isn't everything--and Candice is missing a plus one! Plus, she's not the only one suffering from relationship issues as executive pastry chef Julie Elkind struggles to get her out-of-work boyfriend out of bed.
3 "I only use half of my brain half of the time"

After sales slow down at Chateau, the Koch brothers fear they may lose their restaurant. To drum up new business, they decide to throw a red carpet party, but when the city and health department threaten to shut them down the day of their big shindig, the brothers scramble to figure something out. Then, Julie and her boyfriend decide to hunt for a new apartment, but when Kyle suggests Brooklyn to save money, Julie is completely turned-off. However, Kyle has something up his sleeve that will surprise even Julie. Meanwhile, Anna enlists the help of Jennifer to teach her cooking class in a gluten-free way. Yet, the pair's cooking doesn't quite turn out as planned the first time around. Can this baking duo get the recipe right in time for the class?
4 "Keep your d*ck in your pants"

A lot is on the line as the Koch brothers finally find a permanent space for their signature brunch event. Derek is working hard to have the meatpacking district location ready in time for the grand opening, but his brother Daniel seems distracted by his new romance with girlfriend Allie. The brothers butt heads when Daniel takes a big gamble by bringing Allie on to waitress the first Day and Night Brunch Club party. Meanwhile, "Men's Health Magazine" has reached out to Candice about turning her blog into a column! Can she subdue her flirtatious demeanor and wow the editors with a feature written for a male audience? Plus, Julie has trouble establishing boundaries with her biological mother. See if her shot at reconciliation goes as planned.
5 "Give it up for the loser!"

Hurricane Sandy's devastation still has lasting effects in New York City, and Daniel and Derek Koch want to help those affected by using their strengths--literally. The brothers organize a boxing match where they'll fight each other in the ring in order to raise funds for Sandy's victims. But even after the big event, the fist-throwing doesn't end as the twins get a taste for competition! Meanwhile, BLT's pastry chef Julie Elkind gets frustrated with her fiance, but her relationship woes aren't the only thing she has to worry about when she gets called in for an important meeting at work last minute. Plus, Candice Kumai lets her friends drag her to see a psychic in hopes of learning who her one true love may be!
6 "Three's a crowd"

In the season finale, Daniel and Derek take the show on the road--all the way to Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival. Although their trip isn't about making money, it is about doing business and making connections--but Derek throws a wrench in the plans when he brings his girlfriend along for the ride. Not too pleased with being a third wheel, Daniel takes every opportunity to put the attention back on himself--but what he doesn't know is that Derek's real reason for bringing Molly along is so he can propose to her! Meanwhile, Anna Boiardi is ready to pitch her next big culinary idea, but timing is everything. Plus, Julie Elkind's rocky relationship starts to crumble when the topic of finances creeps into the conversation.
