But the rest of the Animorphs finally track her down (with the help of Jakeā€™s super-sniffing abilities in dog morph) before she tells too many people about her strange memories of Yeerks and Andalites. It takes a few days for her memory to fully return, but it finally does and she is happy and proud to know that she is one of the gang.

8 The Release
2/20/99
The Animorphs discover that the Yeerks are dying in the heads of many controllers. The controllers have concocted a ā€œflu epidemicā€ cover-up story but will the truth get out? Jake and Marco take a big risk to try and save Tom, sick with the ā€œfluā€, but he is taken by controllers for regeneration in the final hour. The risk pays off when they discover that it is in fact a freed controller, Mr. Perkins, their science teacher, who is trying to save Tom. Unfortunately, his attempt fails, and Jake and Marco must help Mr. Perkins escape Yeerk retaliation. Once again, their risks pay off and they learn that saving the world sometimes means one person at a time.

About this show

A spaceship plummets to Earth in a construction site, and five unsuspecting teens ā€“ Jake, Rachel, Marco, Cassie, and Tobias ā€“ discover a dying alien, an Andalite prince named Elfangor, who communicates with them in thought-speak. Intrigued, they ā€œlistenā€ as Elfangor warns them that Earth has been invaded by the evil Yeerks, green, slug-like creatures, which enslave their victims one by one by crawling into their ears and taking control of their minds. To empower and protect the young Earthlings, Elfangor gives them a unique Andalite gift ā€“ the ability to morph into any animal they touch. Now, the five ā€œAnimorphsā€ must use their newly acquired power to battle the Yeerks and save the galaxy. They must trust no one, and nothing will ever be the same againā€¦.

Boy, are the books better than the TV series... <\p> The series is poorly made, and the effects are bad ; even for a '98 series. Seriously hope they release a remake, because this is a great series. <\p> There's a rumor going on that they're making a film adaptation. Hope it gets made.

This rating is based on the fact that as a 32 year old adult I can still recall watching this at 10 years old in my uncles house after school with my best friend every new episode. I adored the books as a kid and still think they are nostalgic gold. I am glad my kids now read my old books and the fact I can share this with them makes it so much cooler. My kids love learning about things "when I was a kid" which at 32 I really feel like a senior but I also remember my oldest is 8 years old and that perspective, like mine at 10, is a magical and dramatic thing.
