Present day Daniel LaRusso lives a charmed life. That is, until he sees that the Cobra Kai dojo, the source of his teenage angst and rivalry, has been reestablished by Johnny Lawrence. Struggling to launch the business, Johnny starts teaching karate to his teenage neighbor Miguel. Daniel faces his former opponent and old offenses are quickly reignited.

In the highly-anticipated return of two iconic characters, the arch-rivals from the legendary Karate Kid film series reunite over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Now living in the affluent hills of Encino, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) leads an enviable life with his beautiful family, while running a successful string of car dealerships throughout the valley. Meanwhile, his high school adversary, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), whose life has taken a rocky turn, seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. Their lives inevitably become intertwined and the rivalry is reignited, setting forth the next generation of "karate kids" in COBRA KAI, a YouTube Red Original Series. Ich habe die bisherigen Staffeln zwar nicht hierüber gesehen, dennoch kann ich allen die damit hadern diese Serie zu schauen wirklich ans Herz legen. William Zabka alias Johnny und Ralph Maccio alias Daniel Larusso leben ihre alte Rivalität wieder auf. Es gibt ausserdem weitere original Schauspieler aus dem Film Karate Kid der 80ger in der man einfach mega gerührt ist. Mr. Miyagi wird hier sowas von ehrenvoll gewürdigt das man ebenso berührt ist. Spaß = Hoch...beste Serie

Zur Qualität von Google: Der Untertitel ist nicht zwangseingeblendet (wie es z.b. bei den Serien auf iTunes der Fall ist). Die Streamingqualität steht YouTube/Netflix in nichts nach. Der Preis von 3€ pro Episode ist bei 20 Minuten Episoden etwas happig. Schade das es keinen Staffelpass gibt der das ganze etwas rabattiert. Zur Qualität der Serie: Die Serie an sich gefällt mir nach 3 Episoden (die erster beiden sind kostenlos legal bei YouTube zu finden!) sehr sehr gut. Eine interessant erzählte Geschichte um Nostalgie, HighSchool Drama und Humor die dabei allerdings nie übertrieben weit in diese Richtungen geht und so durchaus ernstzunehmend bleibt und Spannung erzeugt. Was dabei besonders auffällt ist wie wunderbar Szenen aus dem Karate Kid Kinofilm eingeflochten wurden. Gerne mehr, schade das ich grad nicht 30€ für c.a. 4 Stunden TV ausgeben möchte. Das is ja teurer als zwei Filme im Kino zu schauen.

Wer den Film (ich rede jetzt mal nur vom ersten Teil) in den Achtzigern gesehen hat und geliebt hat, der wird hier nicht enttäuscht. Absolut Hammer und Big Up an Billy Zabka und Ralph Macchio, wie sie das Ding nochmal zum Leben erweckt haben. Gute Story, geile Charaktere (Miguel und Hawk find ich besonders gut gelungen). A man confronts you, he's the enemy. Enemy deserves NO MERCY! COBRA KAI! :)
