About this show

Everyone loves Fawlty Towers - except the poor, abused guests. Since that memorable evening in the mid 1970s when the hotel opened its doors to the public, it has become cult viewing in 61 countries worldwide. And despite being screened again and again, the programs haven't lost their appeal - Basil and Sybil's insults to each other, Manuel's plaintive "Que?", and "Don't mention the war" from The Germans have been absorbed into everyday speech.

Should be a 5 star show this, but like someone else has commented that the shows have been edited to take out (what they deem to be unfit for human ears),so I won't be buying any of these shows. I've watched all the original unedited shows, and there's nothing so bad in it to deem editing. This is a COMEDY show.

Where it is due, just got the second season for free, as I purchased one season a while back. It is a promotion I found in Gmail/promotions by Google, look in your seasons and complete season is like for like, it's very much appreciated! Fantastic old skool fun by the way, comedy that anyone can enjoy as it's timeless. Just hope the BBC as one other had mentioned, cut to much to satisfy the PC culture nowadays, it makes you laugh in itself!

I can't say enough good things about this! Having watched it over and over for the last 36 years and knowing the entire script for every ep, i still laugh like crazy at it! I love John Cleese, my Dad was a huge Python fan, and it was he that got me into that and Fawlty Towers. Way better than any US comedy ever. Us British for the most part do comedy best, and John Cleese is the cream of the crop!
