An accident in the local fish-and-chips shop and a nasty skin rash at the school make Martin even crankier. Louisa is up for headmistress, and Martin, as an unwilling governor of the school, must decide if she's in or out.
3 Blood Is Thicker
11/24/05
Martin treats two brothers for salmonella poisoning, likely caused by the putrid contents of their fridge. But there's something else amiss about this family, which has a bizarre passion for taxidermy-and a mother who hasn't been seen in years.

A radio host seems to have a drinking problem but refuses help. The doctor does have a patient who welcomes his advice: an old man emitting a horrible stench. To top it off, Martin's romantic triangle becomes more complicated.
5 Always on My Mind

When a village woman dies at home, the husband accuses Martin of murder and takes out his anger on Martin's aunt Joan. The doctor also makes inept attempts to rekindle his friendship with Louisa.
6 The Family Way

Martin's estranged parents come to Cornwall for an icy reunion with their only son. His father sneers at Martin's small-town status and his mother barely speaks. But as the real reason for their visit comes to light, Martin reveals an unseen side.
7 Out of the Woods
12/22/05
The local constable asks Martin to be best man at his wedding, but the doctor flatly refuses. The stag weekend in the woods ends up going terribly wrong; however, Louisa is relieved by the outcome.
8 Erotomania

A Salvation Army worker arrives in Portwenn to trace a missing woman, and the constable's checkup has surprising results that could impact his upcoming nuptials. Danny asks Louisa to move in with him, but she feels ambivalent.
9 On the Edge
12/25/06
Bird-watchers in search of a rare species disturb the peace. Martin may lose his receptionist, is told to brush up on his people skills, and Louisa's father arrives unannounced.

About this show

Doc Martin: He's surly, self-centered, rude, and uptight--but he's the only doctor in town. Martin Clunes (Manhunt, Men Behaving Badly) stars as Doc Martin, a hotshot London surgeon forced to change careers when he develops a fear of blood. Relocating to a sleepy, scenic Cornish fishing village, he offends everyone in town and falls in love with a beautiful teacher (Caroline Catz, DCI Banks).

A brilliant show. I've been addicted since first brought to the States. It's refreshing to watch a witty, funny, clean show like this. Where you grow to have a love/hate relationship with characters. Saddest moment is still when Aunt John passed. Best moment was when baby James was born in the Pub over the P A. system So happy to see them doing season 7. Hopefully the pharmacist gets written off.

The characters are real. The situations are real. The interactions between people is just like what we experience in day to day life. I think that is the draw. Someone compared it to House a US production. There is no comparison. England has a law that a TV show must use real medical problems and not made up. Martin Clunes and Caroline Catz and company get it right with great acting. I wish it would go on and on. I never tire of watching it.

My husband and I, look forward to seeing new episodes of Doc Martin. We love this show and it characters, we watched them over and over. I wish this show would not end anytime soon. We really enjoyed British TV in the US. Doc Martin is our favorite next to the Indian Doctor. There's other shows on ACORN tv, that are better than US shows. Keep up the good work.
