About this show

At the heart of the ER's controlled chaos is Residency Director Dr. Leanne Rorish (Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden), renowned for successfully performing high-risk procedures in Center Stage, the trauma area reserved for the most critical cases. Her four new first-year residents are Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Malaya Pineda (Melanie Kannokada), Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Angus Leighton (Harry M. Ford). Leanne's confidante, Jesse Sallander (Luis Guzman), is an amiable seen-it-all senior nurse who manages the residents. Also working in the ER is Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), an excellent physician who sometimes disagrees with Leanne's "cowboy" approach, and Dr. Rollie Guthrie (William Allen Young), the energetic, longest-serving attending. In Center Stage, life is measured in seconds, and these heroic doctors and nurses operate with speed and skill within an overwhelmed system to treat the crowds of people who are often there for one of two reasons: to die or to receive a life-saving miracle.

This series is just amazing! it shows situations seen in ER similar to those in real life plus it opens the imagination to new discoveries that are happening in medicine. The actors just spectacular ! they make the situations seem so natural.Plus you dont see the sex scandal between co workers that is so exaggerated and typical in other ER drama series . The actors live up to their roles and they work really hard to make this series human and at the same proffessional . Rob Lowe just amazing ! he has grown so much as an actor and has this typical sex appeal that not many actors endure . Luis Guzman spectacular ! he sparkles showing the humbleness and experience only good nurses have and Marcia Gay astonishing.. I loved seeing her in some episodes of Law and Order and now being in center stage is a prize well deserved . The rest of the cast just fits in so well !

Working codes in medical situations is not something anyone wants to show on tv, but this show tells it all! What we as healthcare professionals go through day in and day out! The hurt, anger, truth, heartbreak, warmth, appreciation, guilt, happy, loved. This show absolutely tells it like it is! It is extremely accurate in everything they do.

True to life. Tragedy, heartbreak, fear, relationships, anger, sadness, frustration, love, miracles, joy, and hope. This is the gamut of emotions you run through each and every week. ER, Chicago Hope, Grays Anatomy, and all the rest were good, but Code Black tops them all. Well written scripts, talented actors, and likeable characters along with a shock in every episode drives this show. Don't miss an episode!
