In memory of Mr. Lim Lian Geok, former Chairman of The United Chinese School Teachers’ Association of Malaysia, a fund was set up by 15 Chinese organisations on December 28, year 1985. It was registered as a non-profit company under the name of LLG Cultural Development Centre Berhad in the year 1995. The main objective of LLG Centre is to commemorate the late Mr. Lim Lian Geok and to assist in achieving such aim by all lawful means and instruments, inclusive of constructing a memorial hall, publication of books, magazines and journals, organizing talks, seminars and exhibitions etc.

林連玉基金，以馬來西亞華文教育偉人、公民社會先行者林連玉之名，於1985年12月28日成立，主要宗旨為紀念林連玉先生，發揚林連玉精神。林連玉基金於1995年以非營利有限公司“LLG Cultural Development Centre Berhad”的形式獲得註冊，重點工作包括華教節系列活動、座談會、論壇、學術文化活動、設立紀念館、資料整理和出版等。
