The app works or it doesn't. Rakuten in general is great, especially with the desktop add-on. The app only works correctly sometimes. I've reinstalled and cleared cache and it still only partly works. Sometimes I can't get into any profile/account info. Sometimes the biometrics don't work. Currently I can't see any history, it shows my last trip was 2023 (which is not true.)

Thank you for this feedback. The biometrics function is a feature of your phone. Once activated, our app may take advantage of it to verify your identity when accessing certain parts of our app. You can find a complete list of all Shopping Trips under the My Account (the person icon) section. Great idea, terrible execution. Possibly deceptive trade practices. I'll add to the chorus that even purchasing through the app often doesn't give any cash back, and I need to say I'm missing cash back for obviously eligible purchases. I hope regulators look into this behavior. Rakuten is collecting a lot of our data in return for cash back, but they're not holding up their end. They're also motivating people to make purchases for cash back, then don't give it to you

lousy app. 1st time to try it and I got nothing from 600+ Christmas shopping trip at Sam's club. no response to customer support email. big let down. false claims. makes you change and make a new password every month! who likes to make a new password every month for anything? much less, an app that doesn't hold up their end--false advertising. waste of time and energy. don't do it. save yourself the disappointment 😞 Plan on doing all your shopping through their app. doesn't work in-store. bad

You shouldn't have to update your password every month. Sam's Club limits what category of items award Cash Back. For example, Consumables (Groceries, Household Essentials, select Personal Care) are not eligible. We can check your order out and look into your password issue, too.
