CILSSRADIO is a media project launched by the Interstate Committee to Combat Drought in the Sahel (CILSS) in collaboration with the regional climate center AGRHYMET CCR AOS (AGRrometeorology, HYdrology, METeorology) and the Sahel Institute (INSAH). CILSSRADIO is a broadcaster of information in the field of climate change, natural resource management and food security. CILSSRADIO broadcasts a weather report, debates related to global environmental issues and change
climate in the form of radio broadcasts. CILSSRADIO broadcasts continuous news flashes on Seasonal Forecasts of the Agro-hydro-climatic characteristics of the major rainy seasons in the Sahel zones and all of West Africa which is considered one of the most vulnerable to climatic shocks which greatly affect its economy.
The implementation of continuous radio news flashes and PodCasts characterizing the rainy season before it even starts allows farmers, water resource managers, decision-makers and other users to optimal choices in terms of planning and conduct in their activities, in order to maximize their production in line with the expected configuration of the season.
