The Ethiopian Primary Health Care Clinical Guidelines is an integrated symptom-based algorithmic approach to address the common presenting symptoms and priority chronic conditions in the country. The scope of what is covered in chronic conditions for adults, and long-term health conditions for older children includes: cardiovascular diseases; diabetes; chronic respiratory diseases; mental health, musculoskeletal disorders; and womenâs health. The Guidelines provides basic management principles to deal with these diseases at a health center level in an integrated user-friendly way to support health workers to provide care that is evidence-informed, compliant with local guidelines, comprehensive, compassionate and respectful.
