About this app

Enjoy quick and easy access to comprehensive information on managing obstetric emergencies with ESW Mobile App. Be well-prepared, confident and systematic in your approach to handling emergencies using this app that is based on the Emergency Skills Workshop (ESW) program developed by the Association of Ontario Midwives.
Key Features:
Emergency management instructions - Review easy to understand yet thorough step-by-step instructions regarding management of all 8 of the obstetric emergencies contained in the AOM ESW program. Considerations before, during and after emergencies are also included.
Documentation guidance – Discover general documentation tips for emergencies as well as specific documentation guidance related to postpartum hemorrhage, abnormal fetal heart rate and shoulder dystocia.
Access to handy resources – Have at your fingertips instructional videos, ‘how-to’ instructions for hands-on clinical skills, equipment lists, algorithms, tables, and helpful diagrams to aid in emergency management.
Pop-up information boxes – Throughout the app, find helpful information boxes that further explain important points.
ESW Mobile App is intended mostly for reference before and after emergencies, and for study purposes when preparing for certification/recertification in emergency skills. Although the app can be used during emergencies, the degree of detail contained in the management steps is better suited for review purposes. This app is intended for use in conjunction with the complete ESW manual. Users of this app are strongly encouraged to refer to the manual for thorough explanation of management steps, and for a comprehensive analysis of the related research along with full citations.
