How it works
Most aircraft today are equipped with ADS-B transponders that transmit positional data. Flightradar24 has a rapidly growing network of over 30,000 ground stations around the world to receive this data that then shows up as aircraft moving on a map in the app. In an expanding number of regions, with the help of multilateration, we’re able to calculate the positions of aircraft that don’t have ADS-B transponders. Coverage in North America is also supplemented by real-time radar data. Coverage is variable and subject to change at any time.

Ratings and reviews

This app is great for tracking flights around the world. I love it so far. Also, I believe the actual departure and arrival times are very accurate compared to what similar, available apps offer. Moreover, I like the 3D and map views. You can set up alerts so that you'd get notified when the flight you're interested in departs, for example. It has a boatload of information on individual aircraft associated with the flights you search up. It's a great app. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really like both the app and the website! I live near about five different airports, and I really enjoy being able to see what's going on in the air above me. I got the cheaper of the two membership prices, which was something like $14 or $15 for a year and is definitely worth getting. It applies to both the app and website, gets rid of ads, and unlocks a bunch of neat features. I'd say the more expensive one is for pilots since it has some of the finer details. Overall, great app!

Update resolved. Used to love this app. Ads were reasonable....no longer. Full page long pop-up cover plane you are trying to identify. Pop-up ads have increased dramatically in frequency. Yes, there are subscriptions but not viable for basic users. No longer shows balloons, and more and more are removed from visibility.
