About this app

TO Move is compatible with Android phones equipped with NFC, from version 8 onwards.

Here you can buy tickets for your trips on buses, trams and metro, urban and extra-urban, and read the contents of your BIP smart card. There is TO Move, the app from GTT, the company that manages public transport in Turin. Download it for free.

TO Move: easy, simple and fast. It also tells you when your ticket bought on your mobile phone and beeped on board or on the metro expires!

TO Move allows you to buy and use your travel tickets via NFC technology, now available on Android smartphones. GTT uses the NFC system because it guarantees absolute security of data transmission.

The NFC antenna is an essential technology to allow TO MOVE to read smart cards and beep tickets purchased with the APP. If you want to use TO Move, check that your device supports NFC technology and remember to keep it active when you want to use TO Move.

You can purchase City tickets (worth 100 minutes on the urban + suburban GTT network and a single metro ride); you can buy the Daily tickets (they are valid until the end of the service on the day of the first beep, on the GTT buses of the urban + suburban network and on the metro). On TO Move you can also buy Multidaily tickets (consisting of 7 Daily tickets, which can be activated 1 at a time) and Extra-urban tickets for GTT bus lines (single and multi-journey tickets of 6) at a variable rate according to the time slots.

Before boarding public transport, remember to buy your travel ticket. It's very simple: go to the "Buy new ticket" section. Select “Use”, get on board and Bippa!

Terrible app, clunky and old fashioned, constant crashes, completely unreliable. By far the worst of any cities I have visited. Daily ticket purchased in app did not appear even though card was charged. I cleared the cache, restarted the phone, etc. to no avail. I had to pay for each trip separately on the bus, which was significantly more expensive. It's a shame that in 2025 they can't come up with a decent app.

Problem with using payment cards from Google pay. Must set up and add a credit card to GTT TO. Don't really want to do that. Can't remove a credit card from GTT TO once you've added it, can't replace it with a different one. Daily tickets aren't honored for the full day. Once you use it in the first trip it's gone. This could be such a useful and important app. All of my problems have been reported by other people many times yet the app isn't being improved. Shameful.

It just doesn't work reliably... EDIT: Ok, reading the reviews, this feature was reported 6/6/2024 so it probably will never be fixed: as a tourist with non-Italian phone number I can't buy tickets while on mobile data. The tickets to buy just won't show up and it fails with "Ops, something went wrong." The buying works when in an Italian wifi network. As this fatal issue was reported over a year ago, how can it still exist? I am using the Wetaxi app to buy daily tickets now.
