About this app

Important:
This keyboard must be enabled in android settings. More details at the end...

Learn Morse Keyboard lets you practice by typing in Morse code and/or learn by feeling the code while typing in English. You can cycle through the three main layouts using the lower left key --> [ABC] [!123] [-.-.]

Learn!
A qwerty keyboard that buzzes out the letters and numbers you type as Morse code using your phone's haptics/vibration.
[ABC]
The first panel has the basic letters and a few other essential keys (caps, backspace, question mark, comma, space, period, return)
[!123]
The second panel has numbers and special characters. Numbers 0-9, @ and / have haptic feedback. More special characters have been added without feedback to keep it useful as a full qwerty keyboard. (!#$%^&*()-+=:;<>'"[]_{}\~|`)

Practice!
[-.-.]
A minimalist keyboard for practicing by typing using Morse code.
This panel includes the basic [.] and [-] for typing a letter code, a space [ ] for telling the keyboard to convert the code to a letter (or a space with no ./- entered), a return key [<--'], a caps lock [^], and a backspace [<--].

How to enable your keyboard:
1. Navigate to android settings
2. Search for "Keyboard"
3. Select "Keyboard list and default" or similar option (This may be under "General Management" or "Language and Input" or similar depending on your version of android.)
4. Find and tap the toggle switch for "Learn Morse Keyboard"
5. Tap "Ok" for any confirmation dialogs.

You may see a warning that the keyboard has access to what you type. While this is true of all keyboards, we won't save or transmit anything you type. Your text will be converted to/from Morse code on your device, passed to your focused input field, and then removed from memory.
