The Macquarie Authenticator app provides an extra layer of security that helps protect your account and personal information and is our most secure way to authenticate.

It's a mobile app that sends actionable push notifications for you to approve or deny online transactions and account changes, or generate a unique one-time rolling code as an alternative authentication method. You’ll find it’s faster and easier than SMS, and it works more seamlessly when you’re travelling overseas as it’s connected to your device, not your phone number. If you happen to be travelling and you're not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network, the Macquarie Authenticator app will give you the option to use a rolling code to verify your transaction.

When you use Macquarie Authenticator, you can rest easy knowing your money and data are even more secure.

i'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. i have used this app on several Android phones and it has proved more reliable than the usual 2FA SMS method of authentication that other banks use, especially if you are overseas and cannot receive SMS due to no roaming. downside are that it even asks for authentication on transfers between my own accounts which i find very silly. at the very least it should only be to external transfers or purchases. even so, much better than other banks.

This app would have to rank among one of the worst I've ever come across. Far from intuitive, takes you around in circles, sends some crazy code which, when entered, tells me it's the wrong code. Upon entering it (wrongly) for the third time you are then locked out for five minutes. All I want to do is check my account balance. Why is this so difficult?

I logged out of the app on my Samsung phone due to inactivity. Now I can't log back in. Every time I try to log in, it asks me to enter a code from the authentication app, which I can't access because I'm logged out of the app. I can't deactivate the app from the banking app because... it again asks me to enter code from the authentication app...So frustrating!!
