About this app

PLAATO is a reinvented airlock that monitors your ongoing fermentation, sending
the key parameters directly to your phone.

PLAATO lets you:
- Monitor the fermentation activity
- Measure the ambient temperature [°F/°C]
- Estimate the Specific gravity and alcohol content [°Oe, %w/w]

PLAATO features:
• WiFi-connection - Access and share your data from wherever you are, using
the PLAATO-app.
• Versatile - Works on beer, cider, wine and all other alcoholic fermentations.
• Replaces your ordinary airlock - Simply switch to PLAATO, and monitoring will
start
• Real time access to data - During the fermentation, you have access to the
essential parameters in real-time, giving you an unique insight of how different
strains of yeast work, how temperature affects the rate of fermentation and much
more.
• Export data - Understand the unique data generated from each batch, and use
the information to compare techniques and taste, and increase you
understanding of whats going on.

How PLAATO works
Plaato measures continously the flow of CO2 from the fermenter, and knows at any
time the total amount of CO2 that has been generated by the fermentation.
Since the fermentation process generates equal amount of CO2 and ethanol, Plaato
can use this data to estimate the Specific Gravity (SG), alcohol percentage and
quantify the fermentation activity.

Great app, I just wish I could modify the value in the BPM graph, I don't ever think I'll hit 133 or even 800, I'd also love to see a pinch zoom in or zoom out on the chart. Another idea is to set temps and if it goes above or below the temp set you get a notification. After further use I'd also like to see previous brews without having to email a csv to myself, as in get the charts and data all in the app

We have both the plaato keg and airlock. The Keg scale has been excellent with very little issues. The airlock on the other hand, has had all kinds of issue's. The device doesn't not register bubbles if there is a very active ferment. The app has had very few updates (over 2 years now without an update) to address bugs or improve performance. Great concept, poor execution

Got connected and the connection drops, tried to connect many times it gives message " PLAATO wants to connect using a temporary WiFi " and its does not recognize the device. The company should arrange for a customer service representative for web interaction and to resolve any issues. If we can have a video call it would be much better to solve the connectivity issues.
