This is the best camera app for taking videos because it gives you the most control over frame rates etc. However they seem to be picky over your hardware and software. Runs on a Pixel 7 but they wont let you download from Play Store with non-stock Android e.g. GrapheneOS. Would be five stars if they fixed this restriction - it is the same phone after all (and all other apps work). Using OpenCamera until they patch this.

Some irritating quirks. It's good to be able to access all the camera's settings in an easily findable way (why doesn't the built-in camera app do this). However a real annoyance is that operations on the camera seem to pause my streaming media that I am listening to. And you can only discover this on the paid-for version, not the trial one. [Edit: issue with selfie stick resolved in developer's response.]

Hello, some selfie sticks send "volume changed" events to the hardware when you press the button. It looks like you may have configured ProShot to change the EV when pressing the volume buttons. You can correct this by going to Settings > Customize > Volume Buttons and changing the behavior to "Default"

As a photographer looking for more control of my phone camera, this absolutely ticks all the boxes! UI is great, everything is nice and accessible on the fly, plus all that control over settings. Only gripes, found a bug where the app locks up if swapping to an incompatible combo, such as being in slowmo and accidentally changing to wideangle cam which doesn't support the frame rate. It'd also be nice to have the option to have a single button to lock exposure, focus, and white balance at once.

What’s new

This update started as a tiny side-quest to add USB-C support. Two months later, a lot has changed 📸 Here’s what’s new:

• Modernized storage access: ProShot now uses Storage Access Framework (SAF), no longer requires media library permission
• Added USB-C support
• Camera roll now generates high res RAW previews (finally!)
• Edit button now edits videos (requires Google Photos)
• Added 20s shutter speed option
• UI improvements throughout, and so much more!
• Android 10 or higher now required
