"SMS Backup & Restore", even though it performs a simple task, is a major project to develop and maintain. Because there are so many devices and so many different apps for texting, it requires constant attention, development, and improvements. in order to keep it moving, there is a symbolic fee for unlocking all the features.
The free version allows you to share 6 messages each time and includes ads. It is a bit more complex but it actually allows the full functionality, especially for shorter conversions. If you upgrade to pro, you can send all the messages in one go.

Converting And Exporting SMS - Formats:
"SMS Backup, Print & Restore" will convert your SMS text messages to PDF, CSV, HTML, or JPG formats, export the conversations to files, and save them to your device storage.
It will use these files as attachments and share them via different sharing apps. the files are all restorable, meaning you can retrieve your texting data back to the device.

PDF File:
The best option for printing SMS text messages and media (MMS/RCS messages).
Can be opened by Adobe Reader.
"SMS Backup, Restore & Print" will create beautifully designed PDF files with graphics and text.

I love this app, in theory. it would be an amazing tool, and well worth the money to upgrade, if it only worked. it isn't saving media files. it isn't backing up files inside of the dates specified, instead choosing to randomly save messages from the dates specified until the current day. I wish the problem were me; I could just get good and have an amazing app.

I think the price for this app is pretty reasonable for what I've been using it for. I've been backing up text to use to remember things that have been sent to me. for those of you that need proof of texting and black and white for court purposes or even just to remember a loved one that's passed away or something like that this is a really excellent app to get. I pretty much use the function where it changes it all into Microsoft word document which is very convenient to copy and paste.

This app has proved itself INVALUABLE. I am in the midst of a divorce case, and having a tool to export messages as a PDF rather than trying to string together multiple screenshots has been a life saver. The options for creating the pdf's, as well as other file formats is super cool and customizable. Spend the money for the premium version. You won't regret it.
