For over a year I would look at this app since it seemed good. I thought $60 was too much for an app that probably wouldn't be as great as it sounded. Finally, I just did. Hands down one of the best decision ever. I love how the app not only detects the pitch and rhythm but also shows how consistent your pressure is. Lots of great tutorials and just about everything a violin student needs. They also have teachers available for private instruction. That is an add-on and they offer packages.

App wise, I'd probably only give this a 4, just for a few buggy bits (like my lessons only showing up tlwjen I first open the app - click off and I have to fully relaunch the app to get them back). BUT! This is an invaluable resource for learning violin. Tons of free content and the app listens to you play to give you on the spot feedback. It's amazing and has made me want to learn more than ever. Only done my first lesson so far but it was great and I'm looking forward to more!

This app is great for those who want to learn the basics of handling a violin from tuning to posture. However when it comes to actually playing the music, unless your microphone was crafted with the lightning of Zeus himself, Don't expect to get too high of a score because even if you're playing open notes constantly, the app can decide all of a sudden that it's out of tune or think that it's the wrong note and it's frustrating.
