Good with exeptions. It has some really good features like capturing without noise reduction/edge enhancement. There are bugs: It likes to crash when I don't have the default cam app open in background and also sometimes only captures 80% of the picture (lower 20% black), both mostly on high ISOs. It has a good HDR mode but unfortunately, will not use the full resolution of my camera and goes only up to 8MP as opposed to normal mode. For devs: It crashes when automatically using high ISOs.

Has potential but not very usable. Startup is pretty slow, so quick pics aren't possible. There is also an issue with Manual and Auto, i own a Sony A7 IV and I know how to use the manual mode. But sometimes i need to take just a quick picture and set it to auto. Then there is a problem where the brightness is so high that the screen is just white... With Auto it should adjust it but it doesn't, even setting the EV to -4 doesn't help at all as it's still really white...

With the newest UPDATEs "Open Camera" became the best foto app on playstore even better and rivals even the video abilities of the 15€ app "FilmicPro" It features (some providing the phone has cameraAPI2) - Log Video Profiles - color profiles - manual focus, iso and shutter time - crop guides - slow motion - HDR & DRO fotos - exposure and focus bracketing - raw fotos - control on image & video processing - settings for video bit rate and fps and much much more. A slicker, more friendly UI would probably be a great improvement and there are still a few features, that I would love to see, like a programmable zoom and focus or the ability to listen to the audio that is being recorded. but even without these there is no alternative to this app.

What's new

Improvements for pinch zooming. Fixes for split-screen and multi-window mode. Support for zoom and on-screen ISO/exposure display when using camera vendor extensions (for supported Android 13+ devices).

"Touch to capture" option now supports starting and stopping video. No longer cancel panorama when rotating device too far in wrong direction.

Applied a 2s timeout for focusing with original camera API.

Various other improvements and bug fixes.
