Some kind of competitive quiz mode against friends would be cool as well and further gamify it. 🙂 Timed challenges are often frustrating and even though it states "you'll have to restart level 2", you actually have to start over at 1. 😑 Update: Wow. Had 75% of the Spanish course and now I'm back at 66 of 220ish units?! Very frustrating! I have to agree with my fellow learners in the comments: this new linear layout doesn't cut it for me. 😕

"Get more with super annoying Duolingo." You used to show one ad per exercise, now it is at least two. You cannot do anything without paying and of course, people who have Super Duo always wins in leaderboard as it is easier for them to gain points. There are students who can barely afford food, why do you have to be so greedy that you increased number of ads from one to two per exercise? I am very close to deleting this app forever, such pain in the back and it is terrible. Too many ads.

I used it for years, endured a lot and now stopped using it Reasons: - useful basic words are taught very late (sometimes after many, many lessons/weeks) - very little explanations when to use what words in everyday situations - I don't like how the app causes stress, puts pressure on you by setting time limits, by rewarding you when you finish something quickly - very, very repetitive. It forces repititions on you whether you want them or not. I recommend Busuu instead.
