love love looove this app! it not only teaches you vocabulary, but also grammar, which is so helpful when you want work towards becoming actually fluent in another language ♡ the voice recordings are also very natural and easy to understand, not just recordings copied from google translate like you'll find with many other apps. and they even change the look depending on certain holidays, which is so cute?? the developers definitely love this app and i love it too! i can't believe it's all free! thank you so much, this is my favourite language learning app ever ♡♡♡
I believe that Lingodeer is not an alternative to Duolingo in regards to learning Japanese. Rather, I believe the opposite. I tried using Duolingo for Japanese and found it lacking. Lingodeer offers a structured, well put together way of studying Japanese as a beginner. It has proved excellent in helping me understand not just the words spoken, but where to place them and why. The developer deserves all the praise I can give for this app and you deserve to give it a try. Do yourself a favor and start here, you won't regret it.
Very easy to use and fun. I love that you can slow the speech speed down if the speaker is going too fast. Also, it does a GOOD job of teaching you not just the words, but the letters as well, and also has you using them. I have been working on Japanese for quite some time, but have struggled with the letters. Because THIS app forces you to use them, I am finally starting to learn them. Thank you for creating this app.
This is by far the best app to learn Japanese grammar and pronunciation with. It gives great relevant intro info for each lesson before you start. Not being a native speaker, the pre lessons help a lot. The interface is easy and fluid too. It had the option to display words in any combination of kanji/kana/romanji. (but what true student uses romanji, amirite?) The only thing that keeps it from being a one stop shop for learning is that you can't practice writing. That feature might make this app too clustered however, so just get something else and leave Lingodeer for what it does now since it's already great at it.
Very well polished. I tried to use Duolingo to learn Japanese, and while I love them dearly, the system isn't built for Asian languages. Lingodeer is much better at this because it shows the kana with its kanji, rather than hoping you remember them without it. Instead of overwhelming you with words right off the bat, it teaches you the kana then starts building sentences. Overall, I love this app.
It is well written, free, and comprehensive. What more could one ask for; just download it! Thank you to all the hard working developers on this team. As a developer, I can say: it isn't an easy thing to put out a product that meets this level of polish.
