I really like this app. It's easy to use, the planets' orbit line is nice, and the search function has yet to fail me. But it does get glitchy with GPS sometimes. So when recalibrating won't realign it with the sky, I uninstall and reinstall. Sometimes it needs reinstalling a few days later, because the hickup won't immediately clear. But competitive apps are less readable, and very clunky.

This is really useful feedback - thank you. Regarding the calibration issue - it's almost certainly a hardware issue. We don't store anything that an uninstall/install cycle would clear...it's likely that the phone just happens to self calibrate during that time. Not much space here to explain so drop us an email at skymapdevs@gmail.com.

When this app works, it's great and straightforward to use, but when I changed phone case the magnet on the case caused the app to suddenly spin uncontrollably and become unusable. Removing the case fixes the issue though. My phone still loses calibration still on the app even when I do the calibration, it's never quite accurate, but it's good enough. I just find Jupiter and work backwards to figure out where the phone screen should be. My phone is a Pixel 7a

Thanks for the update. Take a look at https://github.com/sky-map-team/stardroid/blob/master/troubleshooting.md which tries to explain what calibration does, why it needs to be repeated and why even after it Sky Map might not be perfectly accurate. Sky Map relies on your phone's compass and different phones just have more or less accurate ones.
