About this app

This app contains a set of tiny tools: a unit converter, a compass (magnetometer required), a bubble level, a calculator, a stop watch, a timer, a magnifying glass, a mirror (front camera required), a ruler and a flashlight (app and widget).

Essentially it’s like an "Army Knife" Android app.

Each tool does what it is supposed to do. There's no space for special effects like 3d compass, talking level, psychedelic flashlight etc: the goal is to have a lightweight, fast and easy to use set of tools, one "tap" away from your home screen.

This app is the size of a common "standalone tool" like a compass, a flashlight or a magnifying glass. This way you'll save a lot of disk space. You'll save network consumption too, not only for the first download but for every update too.
It doesn't require network access, the permission to write on your flash memory or the permission to read your contacts.
If you find a bug, please contact us using the "Report a bug" main menu function.

Note:

- Depending on the hardware capabilities of your smartphone, some tools may not be present

- The permission to use the camera is required in order to turn on the camera flash LED. Some smartphones (for instance the Google Nexus S) don't light the flash LED if the camera is not running. If you check the most popular flashlight apps, you'll find out that they all require this permission. Android Army Knife doesn't shot any photos, doesn't save multimedia info onto the flash card and doesn't send anything on the internet: it doesn't require the network permission at all.

- This app was first released on may 2011 and since then is free and without banners!.

v1.6.2 Unit Converter - What about currency? Now that'd be sweet. Timer and Stopwatch - Semi useless because most phone's clock apps already provide this. Compass - Full coordinates would be a massive plus, perhaps with a link to maps. Still need an extra app to give me that. Also, alternate mode seems to be off by at least one degree. OK if you know your way around or very small distance but easily fatal out in the middle of nowhere. Bubble Level - Really quite useless since even a tablet would be way too small to actually make sense. Why would I want to level anything with my phone anyway? Mirror - Again, useless vanity feature because camera selfie mode provides the same already; unless phone has single cam only; but then you probably don't want a mirror anyway. Considering the app's title I'd really like to see some features actually relating to Android, read at OS level; like sensor management, storage, or even some of the usually hidden features via gksu or similar. All in all, I'm rather pleased with this little gem. Helped me to free up some space wasted by a bunch of redundant apps. Nice job; with potential for improvement.

Another one of those very useful, but overlooked, Apps that we Users, after a while, need reminded to Rate the App! Nevertheless, this is an easy to recommend, easy to use and pretty much 'Worry Free' App, which I swap between devices, in the same manner as I do Any other built-in OS app! In fact, I'm often surprised that it's not on other people's fones or Tablets! Most people are happy enough to Download the App and use it too, unfortunately they are less often inclined to Rate - Srry!

Handy. Not sure if by design or a bug, but the alarm sound for the multiple timers does not go off unless the app is on top/ active. I.e. if you use your device for something else while you wait for the timer, it does not beep. I have tried a number of different settings, it just doesn't work. Got an error message today saying this app was developed for an older version of android and the app needs to be updated.
