FYI, the app is not free and the way it is marketed on the store is a lie. As soon as you launch it, the app takes you through a setup process that requires you to purchase a subscription. If you try to skip it signs you out. Really scummy practice considering in the tuning app there is no mention of purchase needed.

The program is a really good way to learn how to play the guitar. I've really enjoyed all the lessons. The only problem is feedback mode, which is terrible when it comes to tempo. For many songs it tells me that my tempo is off, even if I'm in sync with the metronome. It even said the tempo was off when I recorded the "Practice It" track instead of my own playing. It identified the pre-recorded synthesized guitar as off-beat.

While there are good free apps too, I tried the trial run after purchasing my guitar and liked it, so I decided to stick with it. No regrets a year later. Love the ability to cast to my tv, and the fact that it is a very well-structured e-learning concept. Consists of videos, non-timed reading exercises and timed, animated tablature, with different playing styles and instructors. Well worth the subscription fee.
