About this app

An Australian Government mobile application that you can use to lodge an Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) application. The ETA allows eligible passport holders to travel to Australia for short-term stays for tourism or business visitor purposes. I completed my ETA on a previous device and needed to get a new phone due to my last one not having international coverage. Instead of them syncing my data between phones, I had to go through the steps and pay AGAIN! Just so I had my info on this new device. The worst part is that it showed my already approved ETA during the set up on the new device, but it gave no option to just use that one. What a way to steal my money.

Absolutely terrible photo taking verification. I have a moder phone and had a mad panic with my wife to eventually get a valid photo. Please consider make this more accommodating or make it more obvious that to take a photo you need a bright area, no glasses, a blank wall (light colour). These are not easy places to find when in a last minute panic. We already have enough stress at the airport a photoshoot isn't making it easier.

If I could, I'd give 0 stars. I'm trying to scan the photo page of my german passport for 7h now. Still won't take it. Scaned the British passport of my partner on the first go, but not mine. Same on his phone. Running out of time to get the eta, so I'm, let's say, mildly annoyed at this app.
