Ratings and reviews

I, somehow, expected very little from this game but it turned out to be one of the best in the series. The tower swapping method is amazing, it is brutally challenging (which is a good point in the eyes of a veteran), easter eggs are funny, achievements are not too hard to obtain. It has the perfect balance between the F2P and P2P, you can max the game out without spending any money, or you can explore the different heroes and perks with some spendings. But spending money is NOT mandatory.

Contrary to what a lot of other reviews state (with full respect to everybody's opinions) this instalment of Kingdom Rush is absolutely brilliant! The perfect blend of challenging and fun. Sure, there are a number of pay to obtain things such as (the usual) heroes, towers and extra levels. But there are discount sales packages available and it really wasn't too expensive at all. It's been value for money in my opinion. The game is crisp, clear and runs hell smooth. One of the best KR games yet!

Worst expansion of the series, this one is infested with microtransactions--they made towers and levels cost $. There is no point to doing the Iron and Heroic challenges anymore because they don't give upgrade points, only gems. They changed the graphics which look nice, but the troops are so bulky now you can't see anything on the road anymore. They tried to change the game too much, added too many new mechanics and it's just messy and complicated for no reason. So far, level design also weaker
