About this app

Kanji Study aims to be a helpful and easy-to-use tool for learning Japanese kanji. The app includes SRS, flashcards, multiple choice quizzes, writing challenges, kanji and word search, custom sets and much more. Kanji Study hopes to be your essential companion for mastering kanji.

The app is not entirely free; however, the free version has no ads and offers unlimited study of beginner kanji, radicals, hiragana and katakana. The dictionary and all info screens are also free and unrestricted. The one-time upgrade unlocks the remaining kanji levels and allows you to create your own custom sets. It also supports the continued development of this project.

Ratings and reviews

Best Japanese app, I've been using it for years and the quality is top notch, it works as a dictionary also and helps with writing and memorizing. If you are looking one app for kanji, everything about kanji, this one is what you need. I don't usually write reviews, but for this one I made an exception. Thank you app developers for creating it for us to enjoy most of the service free👍👍👍

It's a useful app, but I really wish the example sentences/words were better. The choice of terms and translations suffer often from pretentious words that do not help the average Japanese learner. I wish more modern & useful & straightforward vocabulary was chosen instead of including terms such as "conferring", "haulage", or archaic words for prostitutes. A considerable amount of the paid reading sentences are also very negative (scoldings, etc), which make it less fun to go through

Intelligent learning progression, great hints and description. No encountered bugs, crashes or slow performance. easy to navigate. And for the love of god it's without ad's, even the free version and 1-time payment, no subscription. And supporting a guy with passion? Take my money. might sound like a lot, but replacing a teachers hours, or a book this is very much worth it! Free plan also has a lot to offer.
