About this app

Termux combines powerful terminal emulation with an extensive Linux package collection.

• Enjoy the bash and zsh shells.
• Manage files with nnn and edit them with nano, vim or emacs.
• Access servers over ssh.
• Develop in C with clang, make and gdb.
• Use the python console as a pocket calculator.
• Check out projects with git.
• Run text-based games with frotz.

At first start a small base system is installed - desired packages can then be installed using the apt package manager. Access the built-in help by long-pressing anywhere on the terminal and selecting the Help menu option to learn more.

The best app ever but with the recent update (early June 2024) the storage permission setup (termux-setup-storage) keeps crashing the app on Pixel7 Pro. Wondering if there any workaround or fix for this issue? @fredrik, thanks for the response. Is there an ETA for the fix?

It's a really incredible app, but in the current versions, they need to solve the storage permission problem, it's possible to enter the folders, but when running ls, mv, cp, etc., it doesn't show the files, making it impossible to use and modify them

EDIT: Fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling, thank you for the fast reply!!_____When I try to update through Google Play, the download completes and then I get an error saying the app can't install.

As a one time thing you need to backup files you want to keep and then uninstall Termux before installing it again to receive the update. This is a one time thing only due to necessary technical changes - future updates will not require this.

What's new

• Avoid prompting for All Files Access if already granted.
• Make Termux:X11 usable.
• Use less annoying toast message when switching sessions.
• Respect the bell-character property.
• Improve handling of empty ';' SGR terminal emulator escape sequences.
• Switch version name from `0.130` style to `googleplay.2024.06.27`, to make it clear that the Google Play build version is currently not comparable to the F-Droid build.
