A brilliant adaptation of the board game, updated to be asynchronous and with tons of variant modes and a progression system. You even unlock the variant modes as options to use in the for-fun games you can invite friends to =) On the day that I downloaded they were having some type of server issue that made the game regularly time out (and then flat-out fail to even log in, as the problem progressed), but it's been smooth sailing in the week since then!

Great app with cool features but a few huge flaws. Mainly locking so many things behind consumables and XP gating. And then having a lot of XP and rewards tied to frustrating achievements that are overly punishing, especially when trolls can screw up nearly 15 game streaks. Feels like it was going to be a freemium game and they didn't fix the problem areas before making it paid. Still fun, but really annoying if you want access to everything and are a completionist.

Great adaptation to the board game. The gameplay, different game modes, and rules make sense for the online play. I also love the different introductions of different mechanics as you progress. This app is really refreshing for veteran Codename players. Well worth the $5, no ads, no dlc, just the great game.
