Most mobile games are time wasting freemium garbage. They're built simply to suck time by wasting it and force you to become frustrated enough to pay to get ahead. This is not that. This is an actual game you can play. It's a good slimmed down civ 5. The maps aren't huge, but it keeps the games manageable on mobile. Edit. Had to knock a lot off the score. The computer cheats constantly. The numbers mean nothing. How does a 7 beat a 15 (after modifiers) fifteen times consecutively?

2016 review: This game is awesome. My only gripe is that there are bugs that haven't been fixed in months. One is when the phone goes asleep and you wake it up to return to the game you'll find the city menus gone. Also, the swipe to end turn image goes into super fast animation. Overall, great game! Fix bugs for 5 stars. 2020 review update: same bugs exist 4 years later but now Android update makes the game unable to load.

Could be so much better. Android devices have been fairly common for a decade and yet the U.I. is still lacking. Can't see the damage, experience, upgrades etc for units. Icons overlap so they can't be read. Documentation is skimpy. No diplomacy options, only what you are offered. Maps are tiny. Also freezes sometimes on a very good phone.
