Ratings and reviews

This is a very good app for learning and for quizzing yourself. It's clean and simple and works and as far as I have noticed there aren't any ads getting in your way which is amazing. I *really* wish it included dakuten and handakuten as those are what I keep messing up. It is a big omission. The memory hints are of mixed helpfulness because the sound the character makes sometimes doesn't match the clue word they in Eng. for the cue. Tofugo ones are better.

This app alone has allowed me to identify characters through mnemonics, but you must remember the images are based on the Japanese pronunciation of English, which is confusing at first but you get used to it. For example: Look is actually Ruuk phonetically in Japanese spoken English. L does not exist in Japanese. My only gripe is that it does not cover variants, combinations or being able to increase the quiz beyond 10 characters. It's also from the Japan Foundation so no annoying ads!

The app is really well done. It is functional and well designed. It is easy to use and it fulfills the purpose of helping and simplifying the process of remembering the hiragana alphabet with simple and fun mnemonics. The use of color as transition between letters is useful and pleasant. It gives also options to choose from for learning and quizzes, so it is not monotone. As a beginner in learning Japanese language I like the app and find it helpful. Thank you for your effort.
