It's a decent app, especially for learning kanji and vocab. My only criticism is that they don't offer a membership option that goes month to month, you are forced to choose between a 1 year or 3 year membership plan, shelling out more upfront cash. I would actually subscribe if there were an option with less of an upfront cost, but due to the restrictive subscription model, unfprtunately I wont be subscribing.

This is an EXCELLENT learning app, and you get a surprising amount for free as part of the trial version. Even when your trial runs out, you can still review the vocabulary you've learned. Unfortunately what stops me from giving a 5 star review is the fact that you have to pay a full year in advance, which is a lot of money to drop all at once. If there was an option to pay monthly that would be preferred, because I don't have the means to drop $50-$200 for a 1 or 3-year subscription.

MochiKanji does a good job at teaching textbook "polite" Japanese thru learning words, vocab activities, and daily reviews. It does struggle to pick up "rough" Japanese or "casual" Japanese from time to time. The dictionary is good as a way to look up some words if you know them, but they're not always there. Still, a good introduction to Japanese or a refresher.
