Needed a compass quickly to determine the direction an object was facing. This compass was quick to download, quick to calibrate, and so far seems accurate (at least enough for my needs). I'd recommend it to others. EDIT: changing review to 3 stars. This workes well in my house (with wi-fi). However, when not in range I could only get a message of "not connected...).

As a pilot, I have a good understanding of magnetic compasses, their strength & weaknesses. When you turn, accelerate, descent or ascend, they act weird turn in all directions, become jittery but eventually they settle down as you and your vessel have settled, that's just the nature of any magnetic compass regardless of price, digital, or simple magnet in a liquid such as alcohol. This app is based on magnetism and acts like one, doesn't like too much metallic mass and erratic movements.5 stars

This is a great app. No permissions needed, no BS, and it's easy to use. It seems to work on magnetic lines of force, like a traditional magnetic compass. The downside to that is you have to make a correction for your local magnetic variation if you want to use it with a map based on true north. If the developer would let you store that correction, I would give it 5 stars. Also, your accuracy is going to suffer if you're near large iron or steel objects. In the great outdoors, no problem.
