RaceJoy is a new way for athletes and spectators to experience race day- creating true Race Joy! No more standing around a board for results with RaceJoy's INSTANT RESULTS and progress updates. With RaceJoy's Phone Fun features, you now have access to true LIVE GPS tracking and proximity alerts! The days of your friends and family missing you as you run by are now gone! And they can Send you a Cheer while you race! Note: athletes do not need to carry their phone for results and progress updates.

*Live Tracking feature is ONLY activated during the hours of the Event. Use of this GPS technology running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. You may disable this under settings at anytime during the event to conserve battery life if needed.

Ratings and reviews

Don't waste your time with this app. There was no "Start my Race" button to press when I reached the starting line. Not the way I want to start my race. People were able to track me and I did receive "cheers", but I did not get updates from the app and I WAS NOT notified twice when I went off course. Pretty much worthless if you are running a trail ultra. No - I most definitely did not " have cellular data issues". Garmin LiveTrack worked. Strava Beacon worked.

*EDIT in response to comment: True that you can adjust the settings, but it is not at all intuitive and hard to figure out while your phone is continously cheering in the meantime. The notification settings are terrible! They constantly send alerts with annoying sounds even when my phone is on silent. When I turned off notifications, I still received the audio alert but not the text to go with it, so the annoying part was still on but missing the actual information!

It's a good idea implemented badly. There are a lot of cool features, but none of them work including the gps based ones if you don't have data service, which we didn't most of our race. It's not very intuitive, and pretty disorganized. It may work better if your race is in the city, but i think you will still be better with separate apps that are designed for what you need (Google Maps, stopwatch app, family locator app)
