About this app
This is a native app developed for Android Mobile Users developed using Android Studio.
The main objective is information dissemination to the Citizens of the Davanagere District, Karnataka state of India. Anybody with an android mobile phone can down load and install the app. The app can be a very useful utility/tool for citizens. All the data stored in the local database are static data.
The app has 9 modules. All the offices/institutes are geo tagged with minimal details. Citizen can easily locate office of his interest on Google Map. Citizen can select options provided in the main menu. When Hospital option is selected, it displays markers representing locations of all the Hospitals. On click of the marker, he can view the details of any hospital. An option is provided to call Hospital number on click of info window. When user clicks on the route map, app opens up another screen which displays direction from his present location to the destination marker. And also it displays route, distance, and travel time to reach the destination.
We have included manual for “about this app” which is on top of menu. At the bottom we have “Down load data Option.” First time user has to click on this option to download data of the offices into local database. Then citizen can choose any option to view the locations on the Google Map. As a value addition we have included our District website also.
